Waterproof and Vandal Resistant
The SSD series is designed with water-proof capability that allows the cameras to be used outside a building for omni-directional and advanced surveillance without needing additional outdoor housing. Among the models in this line, the AVSSD-698B comply with IP-67 requirements (meaning the cameras are capable to work IN THE WATER), and AVSSD-698D meets IP-66 standard.   To make the SSD cameras adaptable to various indoor and outdoor environments as much as they can, AVSSD-696B are also built with vandal-resistant housing. The AVSSD-698B may handle impact of 28Kg, while the SSD-698D is capable for 40Kg.
Compact and Light-weight for Easy-mount
Compared with other PTZ cameras, the AVSSD-698B is uniquely featured with compact dimensions. It is only 4-1/2 inch (114mm) in diameter, 6-1/2 inch (180mm) in height, and weights less than 3 pounds (1,400 grams). Supported by a line of simple and durable brackets, the compact size and weight allow the SSD cameras to be mounted in an extremely easy manner for almost all the environments, and less labor effort (meaning less cost) is required for installing the SSD cameras.
High resolution
To present clear and crispy image for quality surveillance, all the models in SSD line are equipped with high resolution (480 lines or above) Sony CCD. The SSD-698B and SSD-698D (housed with double-layer enclosure) have 23-time optical zoom lens.
Pan, Tilt and High speed
All the SSD models are capable to pan 360o continuously and tilt for 90 o, and digitally managed by CCTV keyboard, PC based DVR or contemporary video server through RS-485 pair.   These cameras may move at quick speed of 300o per second for preset recall and reacting to alarm event, or at variable speed from slow yet precise 0.25 degree (0.5o for vertical direction) to fast speed of 240 degrees per second during auto-pan or manual pan-tilt control (dependent to controllers).
Powerful system-functions
Every model in the SSD line has wide range of camera ID (up to 128) for large system, 64 positions for view preset, 4 pre-defined groups, 3 alarm inputs plus one output. Dwell and speed are programmable (dependent to controllers).   For control protocols, the SSD models offer options of Pelco D, Pelco P.
Special Image-functions
To accommodate the diversity of surveillance environment, through the assistance of OSD (On-Screen-Display), a number of image functions are provided in AVSSD-698B and AVSSD-698D.   Advanced functions such as motion detection, and back-light compensation (BLC), together with useful functions like ATW, AWB, AGC, ALC, color tone, day / night mode, AF mode, zoom speed ……are included.   To be compatible with different control devices (keyboard, PC software, DVR) which may or may not be able to open and close the camera OSD, AVSSD-698B and AVSSD-698D supplies adequate supports for controllers
